BLESSING STRAIGHT FROM HEAVEN!!!!

my brother and sister in law have prayed for over ten years for a blessing from God in the form of a child. didn't matter what race, religion, sex, or even if the child had special needs, newborn, teenager, toddler or somewhere in between, they just wanted a child to call their own to love and raise. on november 12 that prayer was finally answered in the form of a very healthy beautiful angelic little boy by the name of SAMUEL LAWRENCE QUINTANILLA!!!!! God 100% injected their lives with a friend who knew a lovely pregnant lady srtuggling to make ends meet, already blessed with two children of her own, and looking for a family to care and love for her unborn child. this friend told this lovely lady about my brother and sister in law and how they were wanting a child of their own. it was truly by the grace of God that she chose them (us) to give her child to (via a private adoption). it only took a month.

no more heartaches, no more rejections, no more last minute mind changes. Sammy came home on Sunday November 14th and officially became my nephew.

thank you God for our little Sammy! and i pray that the birth mother will find peace and acceptance which surpasses all understanding in her decision to allow them, adrian and sarah (and me as the aunt) to raise Sammy (or in my case, help raise Sammy) to know the love and grace of your father.

here are some pictures i recently took of my little doodle bug nephew, Sammy. hope you enjoy them as much as we had fun taking them!

Apendicitis

Was not feeling well last Friday and Saturday, fever stomach ache, chills. I am thankful for my loved ones! They made me go to the ER (I am hard headed and don't like going to the doctor unless absolutely necessary) only to find out that I had APPENDICITIS! We caught it before it burst thank goodness. Blood work showed nothing...it was the CT scan that found it. Surgery late Saturday and am still recovering. Honestly the recovery has been more painful than the appendicitis and now I am itching like cray! Side affect from all the morphine in the hospital. Couple of more days and I should be back to my normal routine. Thank you all for the prayers and blessings!

this past weekend we went on a short roadtrip to Austin, Texas to attend a little cousin's third birthday party. we had a blast spending some quality time with family. my cousin victoria is so funny that the three hour drive didn't seem like three hours at all. the party included a moon bounce, snow cones, cotton candy, cake and tons and tons of candy!!! on our way home we stopped by the UT campus to check it out. here are some pictures from our short get-a-way, enjoy!

Autism Awareness - Cotton Bowl Event

Autism Speaks is a non-profit organization that helps raise awareness about autism. I have several friends with children who are on the spectrum thus making this organization very near and dear to me. I have met so many wonderful people being involved with this organization and am honored to be able to assist however I can to help fund research to find a cure. Furst Fotos has been actively involved with this organization since the 2009 Walk and will continue to be involved as long as they will let me. Additionally, Furst Fotos will have a team walking together at the 2010 Walk Now For Autism , please join our team! Over the weekend I had the fortunate privilege of shooting Abigail and her twin brother Joshua. This specific post is to highlight Abigail's beauty (Joshua's post to follow). Abigail is one of the most beautiful 15year olds I think I have ever shot. Abagail was so sweet, she didn't have a lot to say but by looking in her eyes and seeing her smile, her pure innocence and joy shined through in each fame taken. In photography, it is said that a person's eyes are the window to their soul. Abigail's soul is so beautiful... She is preparing to celebrate her 15th birthday and her family is preparing her a huge quincaera. Abigail is autistic. Wow! I have lived in the DFW area almost all my life and have never been, until yesterday. Amazing! There were probably 100 or so profesional photographers there taking pictures. I had an amazing time with the Terry family. These are three of the cutestest most well behaved children I have ever seen. Joseph was somewhat of a challenge to photograph, he would be smiling then look at the camera and put on a straight face. It was a challenge to capture his gorgeous smile but we did it! Here are a few of some of my favorite shots. Needless to say I already have another shoot book at the Arboretum next weekend. Life if good.

Autism Speaks

What a weekend! I had the honor of being one of the photographers to photograph the Walk in Round Rock, Texas for Autism Speaks. This is such a great cause. If you missed the walk in Austin, you can always catch the Dallas/Fort Worth walk in Arlington at the Ballpark on November 14. Even though it rained the entire event it was a great turnout, unfortunately I came home with a horrible cold!

My Aunt Trudy passed away on August 19, 2009. Here is the eulogy I read at her memorial service. RIP Dear Aunt, you will be missed!
My Aunt Trudy
She was first a child of God. God gave a blessing to Carl Adolph and Sheila Jane Furstenberg on July 15, 1930, her BIRTH day. On this day, Trudanne Furstenberg became a daughter a sister a cousin, a friend, and a neighbor. She grew up and married Bud Hart. She then became a mom, an aunt, a My Aunt Trudy, a grandma, a marmie, a friend, a neighbor, a patient, she was a lot of things to a lot of people but foremost she was still a child of God.
My Aunt Trudy IS a kind and loving woman. She IS a caring friend, she IS a loving sister, she IS a loving mom, loving grandma, loving marmie, a loving aunt.
I use the word IS and not was, with emphasis on the word "IS". Just because I won’t be able to physically see her I can still feel her in my heart. Her soul still "IS". I can still sit and talk to her, just like I talk to Jesus, which I do all the time but I have never physically seen him. But I feel him. I feel his love. He IS. "I am the beginning, I am the end". I AM is God. God is Love.
So...My Aunt Trudy IS a kind and loving woman. She IS a great Aunt. I will always keep her in my thoughts, in my heart, and in the stories I pass on and share with my family and friends. To me she is not dead, merely resting peacefully and reunited with her creator. I find solitude in knowing that she herself was ready to go and was not afraid of death. My instinct tells me that she is totally at peace. I find comfort in thinking that she is experiencing a place so profoundly peaceful AND that she has been welcomed by our Father, Jesus Christ, who in his mercy has transformed her soul to a younger more innocent time, before the cancer...before the brain tumor....before any pain or heartache. My Aunt Trudy has become my Angel, our Angel. I know she can still feel the love each and everyone of us has for her, because I still feel loved by her. Love is so powerful it has no earthly boundaries. Love is never ending. Love offers life, life offers forgiveness and forgiveness enables love. It is a circle which has no end. Keep loving, forgive, in return you will receive love.
Keep loving my Aunt Trudy, Forgive one another because that is what she wanted, and accept each others love. It is now time to celebrate the life she lived and celebrate her new BIRTH date in Heaven. May the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your thoughts through this difficult time.
Jesus said: "I am the resurrection and the life, he that believes in me, though are dead, shall live, and whoever lives and believes in me, shall never die." I am still loving you Aunt Trudy, rest in peace.
Please pray with me:
O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of your servant, My Aunt Trudy, and grant her entrance into the land of light and joy in the fellowship of your saints, through Jesus Christ your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever, Amen.

Litte Miss Sunshine

So...my daughter was in her very first Pageant. (I couldn't resist after watching Toddlers and Tiaras!) Here she is in all her glory. She was BEAUTIFUL, she did a GREAT job and she did it all by herself. She did not want me to hold her hand! And...she sang you are my sunshine, she wasn't suppose to but she had set a goal for herself to "sing on stage" and by goodness she did it!

Today was a busy day at work, came home and watched America Idol. Someone on the show, I think it was Lil Rounds, said if your not living your dream your not living. I couldn't agree more, that's how I feel about my photography. Adrain says it's in my blood and that I inherited my love for photography from Gammy. Made me feel good, that's where "Furst Fotos" originated from. Hopefully one day I will be able to post some of her pictures here so everyone can enjoy her work. After American Idol I picked up the camera and took a few shots of my 3 angels hanging out. Avery was rolling around the floor and rocking in the rocking chair that my mom used to rock me in and Pat and Adrian would pull it back and scare me (both of them will know exactly what I am talking about), Cameron was glued to the computer playing webkinz and Cody was watching tv. Don't worry ~ homework was done by the time I got home. OH YEAH, I heard from my school today and I qualified for a $1300 pell grant and another $250 grant! Whoo hoo, it's not alot but its better than nothing, which is what I expected. They are still waiting to receive some information from Sallie Mae then I will hopefully finalize the financial part of my education. It will be only by the Grace of God that I get to go to school, so I am keeping a knee to the ground and praying everyday. Here are some shots of the kids.

Today was a looong day. Work then we had SC Game night at the office afterwards. Games, snacks and drinks. I brought our Wii and and our PS3 (Rock Band 2) to our office but only 2 people wanted to play and we didn't even hook up the Wii. Oh well we had fun with it, we played Cranium and Taboo. Today I went to church, work then home. It made for a very busy Sunday with little time to just rest, but it was a great day. I am thankful for my family, my three beautiful healthy children, and my friends. I am thankful for today because I realize every morning I wake up is a blessing, as each day is not promised to me. Here are some shots I took at church (first communions took place today so a lot of people had cameras), and some shots I took of the cows by our house.
